Slight Diversion

wood surfboard

I've had a slight diversion in my woodwork. The cold of winter is starting to finally give way to warmer temperatures and spring is finally in here in Calgary (well at least for this week!). I've been dreaming of summer plans and surfing in Tofino which led me into making a surfboard! It's a hollow surfboard with hollow rails. The wood for the bottom, deck and rails is made of Western Red Cedar which is always very interesting to work with. I still have a good deal of work left to do before it is finished but I'm looking forward to the maiden voyage this summer.
