During the winter last year I made a 7'10 fun-board shaped surfboard out of Cedar. I tried it out in Tofino and was super happy with the board. It was certainly an eye catcher to other surfers both in the water and on the beach. So this winter I have decided to make another board. The board will be a 6'3 Mini Simmons shaped board with a double concave in the bottom back tail– for an extra challenge! Here are a couple of photos of the board in it's infancy. Here I am blocking in the tail area for the next steps which is putting in the chines– then follows the hard part which is fitting the bead and cove side-rails. The beauty and versatility of wood always fascinates me!
